Central Province

Ruling the central hill country of Sri Lanka, Central province has existed from the 19th century. The last capital kingdom of Sri Lanka lies in this region. Covered by lush greens, tall mountains and diverse terrains, most of the cities have cooler climate throughout the year. During the 19th century, British colonials ruled Kandy and successively expanded their influence. The central province of Sri Lanka boasts of many world heritage sites, sacred religious places, broad mountain ranges and tea plantation.
